Travel Channel interested in buying Oyster.com hotel website

Digital News Report – The Travel Channel has announced that they have “acquired a meaningful interest” Oyster.com website which is a website that is used to research room accommodations and make hotel reservations. The two companies have an agreement to work together which will allow The Travel Channel and Travelchannel.com to access the Oyster.com website content. They will be cross promoting their brands.

The Travel Channel President, Laureen Ong, said that by developing the “strategic relationship with Oyster.com” the television cable network would further expand themselves as a go to source for improving travelers experiences beside just inspiring and entertaining them with television shows.

Oyster.com was founded in 2008. The hotel reviews are written by trained journalists who also take photographs of the hotel accommodations and give their editorial opinions at the hotel being reviewed.
