Easy, Fast Dinner Recipes

Is there any mom or dad these days who doesn’t long for some tried-and-true, tasty, healthy, easy, fast dinner recipes? The days of mom staying home and beginning to prepare dinner right after lunch are long gone; today’s lifestyles demand that food not only be tasty but also nutritious, simple, and fast. It is also important for the meal to be liked by not only the parents, but also the kids, since nothing can turn a nice evening meal into a torture session quite like cries of, “I don’t like this.”

Just about all easy fast dinner recipes involve some kind of quick-to-cook meat, such as hamburger meat, thin cut pork chops, boneless chicken breasts, or canned tuna. Keeping these meat staples on hand in the freezer or refrigerator will give you something to build your meal around, and it won’t take hours to prepare.

You should also keep frozen vegetables in the freezer. Frozen veggies taste better than canned and still have the nutrients that the fresh counterparts contain. Nowadays, you can even buy your veggies in bags that go right into the microwave, and four or five minutes later, you have perfectly steamed broccoli or cauliflower right at your fingertips. Some of them even come with butter and seasoning already added, so don’t be shy about using frozen vegetables. They are healthy and delicious.

Also, keep some canned soup on hand. In particular, you should have some of the simple creamy types such as cream of celery, cream of chicken, or cream of mushroom. When added to some rice, poured over some chicken breasts, or added to a plate of egg noodles, these soups add great flavor and texture. Canned tomatoes, too, are very versatile, and you can use them to make quick sauces or add some pretty color and delicious flavor to whatever you are cooking.
