Curse of the Pharaoh – Napoleon’s Secret Game Review

After Anna’s quest that had her venture through the ruins of Egypt in Curse of the Pharaoh, the sequel to this hidden object game puts Anna in another adventure concerning the French conqueror, Napoleon. Curse of the Pharaoh: Napoleon’s Secret continues on the story of the first game. But for now, you might be wondering: what’s the connection between Napoleon and Nefertiti anyway?

Anna survived the last encounter with her step brother William in the previous game. Still surprised about the incident, it’s unclear to her why William will do such a thing as to attack her. This prompts her to investigate what drove her step brother to madness since it’s very much clear that this is no mere treasure hunt anymore. And following the trail of all the clues leads her into Napoleon’s tracks, connecting the famous leader to Egypt’s ancient mystery.

There are two game play modes involved in Curse of the Pharaoh: Napoleon’s Secret. The first one is a find-the-difference type of game and the second follows a traditional hidden object rule of finding listed objects. The game is not timed and for each level, you’re given only ten objects to find. However, this does not mean that you’re capable of spamming clicks throughout the scenes because if you do so, the area goes all black and you’ll have to contend with just using a flashlight for a short amount of time.

Aside from the differences or listed objects you’ll have to find, you’re also tasked to search for inventory items and put them back into their proper places throughout the whole set of levels. You will also need to find the broken pieces of the pharaoh’s mask, serving as the key in order to finish the stage. Inventory items and the mask pieces are designated by padlocks when you hover your mouse through them, making the search significantly easier for these objects.
