Cowboy Boots – One of the Top Choices Among Fashionable Leather Boots

The primary objective of a pair of cowboy boots in the days of yore was to guard the feet in its various activities. However, soon they became sort of style statements. The recent boots, however, balance both, and the different brands provide either or both the above mentioned functions. And nowadays they come in a mind-boggling range of shapes, sizes and materials. The fairer sex, especially, has a wide array of choices in formal as well as informal boots – ranging from the very sporty Doc Marten, cowboy and motorcycle boots to the more chic Go-Go and ankle or knee length high heeled boots.

Cowboy boots first came to be worn by the tough ranchers sometime in the middle of the 19th century- the 1860s, to be exact. These boots generally stood out because they had no zippers or shaft. They were also equipped with heels. The shape of the toe was out of the ordinary. It was rounded or slightly pointed – quite unlike any of its predecessors. Leather as the building material has come to be replaced by the skins of buffaloes, eels, snakes and alligators. These shoes are generally showy and often have wild splashes of color.

Hiking boots, however, have evolved into multipurpose shoes as people wear them to work, to walk or to just chill out. They can withstand natural as well as man made topography. Thus they remain unspoiled through rigorous hikes across rocky terrain and water. They also remain good while negotiating the asphalt strips made by men and called the city roads.

Motorcycle boots are also known as biker boots. They are different from the earlier ones because they come with sturdy buckles. They also have lesser heels and have strong leather as the building material. Informal female boots often resemble the older biker boots. In fact, it is thought that the former got its inspiration from the latter.

Go-Gos were first launched in the 60s and from then on boots for women became a rage in the fashion circuit. Andre Courreges started using the term Go-Gos because he thought that the boots he made were perfect for dancing. Those boots has lesser heels and were perfectly white in color. They were almost the length of an ordinary ankle boot, except for the fact that they reached slightly above the ankle. However, nowadays, the term has expanded to include any kind of female dressy boots. They are generally worn with a short dress or skirt.

Knee-high boots meant for women have also become a rage across the world lately. Even 1950s saw certain kinds of such long boots for women in the fashion market. Nowadays they come with zippers or laces to snugly fit the ankle and legs. The heel might range from almost flat to high stilettos.

Boots are a rage across the world today. And there is one for every occasion. You might be chilling with friends, working intently or just dancing without a care – there is an ideal boot for every such event.
