It is more fun to be a smoker. This is a widespread myth, which is now being busted by British scientists. In a survey among 879 ex-smokers, approximately 70 per cent answered that they were happier and more satisfied after they have stopped smoking. Many smokers do not want to stop smoking, because they think they will miss something life. Have they first come through the first difficult time as a non smoker, it does not seem that life without tobacco is neither worse nor more sad than life as a smoker. On the contrary, a study shows, published in the journal Nicotine & Tobacco Research. It is hard to find ex smokers who regrets that they have quit smoking. What matters is to get through the first hard time with withdrawal symptoms.

879 ex-smokers were interviewed, and almost 70% responded that they were happier after they had quit smoking, 26% answered that their mood was unchanged and less than 4% answered that they were less happier than before.

The results of the study fits with my experience: It is hard to find ex-smokers who regretted that they stopped. It is rather easy to find smokers who regretted that they started in the first place.

There is a myth, that if you stop smoking, you might prolong your life, but at the same time you lose some quality of life. But the ex-smokers who have come through it the first time with withdrawal symptoms both have the cake and eat it too: they feel proud to be able to stop, feel free of dependence, has more energy and is meet with recognition for their achievement. They are, in short, on the winner of the team.

Focus on life quality rather than health

Shift the focus from all the harmful consequences of smoking to all the positive benefits of being a non-smoker is far more efficient, when trying to motivate people. It is not fear and pointing fingers that motivates people.

Instead, we are developing new methods in which we dont to focus on diseases and health, but rather on the improved life quality, which freedom from smoke brings. The methods were developed from experiments with advice on smoking cessation for cancer patients. They were excited, partly because they felt that with a smoking cessation they themselves made a difference. Rather than being part of the problem, they were now part of the solution instead.

Better in time

The increased satisfaction is more pronounced, the longer the time that has passed since they stopped smoking. But even with ex-smokers, where the smoking stop was quite new, it was still the majority who feel happier now. Younger ex-smokers was more excited after their cessation than older people. However it did not matter whether they were heavy smokers or only smoked a few cigarettes a day.

Many people are addicted in smoking.Apparently, many people do really want to be free from smoking, but they simply can not achieve the goal. Of course, they have tried many ways because it is not easy to realize their dreams. I find a new technology these days. The name of it is e-cigarettes. And I will recommend it to you in this article. In my point of view, it will do great help to the smokers.

In fact, you will know more about it after comparing e-cigarettes with traditional cigarettes. As is known to us that smoking the traditional cigarettes is very harmful to our health. Because it may lead to various kinds of cancers, such as lung cancer. There are many deleterious substance in the cigarettes. But smoking e-cigarettes will avoid the disadvantages of traditional cigarettes. Electronic smoking can produce a vapor mist that looks like real smoke, but isn’t. That is why you do not have to worry that your health will be harmed when you are smoking e-cigarettes.

Then you may ask me where can we get the service. As far as I concerned, there are many websites providing electronic smoking service. But I want to remind you that you had better choose a reliable website.

Well, that is all. I hope that all the smokera can benefit from electronic smoking.

Have you ever said those words? How about “I’m going to try AGAIN”, or “Might as well give it another shot, what have I got to lose.” You can’t think like this. A famous quote and pardon me for not knowing who said it, states that ‘Nobody who tries anything, accomplishes very much.’ And the same is true for quitting smoking.

Even though you are looking to convince yourself or someone else that you truly desire to quit, by saying ‘try’, you are conditioning your subconscious beliefs for potential failure.

Don’t belive me? Then consider this. Most people who aren’t afraid of heights or have a particular phobia about speed can ride roller coasters. Not my wife. She won’t get near them and we really can’t figure out the reason why.

And on any occasion when I or my son have been able to coerce her into standing in the line with us with the utmost belief that this time she is going, she always says ‘I’ll try.’ But wouldn’t you know it, by the time we reach the head of the line she has extricated herself to a position of safety, opting instead to wait for us at the end.

So how does she get out of it and still feel good about herself? Because she only said she would ‘try’ and that doesn’t really count. The same goes when you are the path to becoming a non-smoker. By only trying, you are leaving yourself an easy exit down the road. And this isn’t something you want to do.

I encourage you to seek out any smoker who has failed in their quest to quit and in almost all of the cases they will say these exact words to you – I tried! And perhaps they might even say that they soon plan to ‘try’ again.

So what you need to do if you are to commit is remove the word ‘try’ completely. Use a statement like this. ‘I am going to quit to better my health. For the betterment of my family. For the betterment of my finances. No exceptions.’ Can you see the difference? You must state the exact reasons for why you want to quit. With no allowances for weakness or failure.

Put this commitment in writing. Carry it with you everywhere. Have a copy in your vehicle; distributed around the house. Anywhere you can see it to remind yourself of what your true desires are. It will make all the difference in becoming a non-smoker.

Stop Smoking Aide Are you searching for the best possible way to quit smoking without needing NRT? Then you deserve to discover a stop smoking system that helps you to quit for good, naturally.

Surgery, whether elective or required is something many will face at some point in their lives. Surgery is complicated and can have many side effects. Often the consent forms are numerous pages listing everything which could go wrong. Surgery is complicated enough without the added risks of smoking.

Surgery is something many patients will face at some point in their lives, whether elective or required. There are certain protocols in place for patients to follow before surgery such as no food twelve hours before surgery and nothing to drink. However, many physicians and anesthesiologists require their patients to quit smoking for at least two weeks before and after surgery.

According to Anesthesiologyinfo.com, smoking does two things to the cardiovascular system which causes many problems for the anesthesiologist and surgeon. By smoking the patient is increasing the carbon monoxide which attaches to the hemoglobin in the blood which will decrease oxygen in the blood. Nicotine will increase the amount of oxygen the body needs putting a stress on the heart and body. The heart will not function properly because of the increased carbon monoxide and blood will not get where it needs to.

Second, the lungs are more likely to collapse because smoke causes the small airways in the lungs to not function properly as well. Smoking makes more mucus which can leak into the lungs, making the lungs unable to clear it. Smokers are more prone to bronchospasms and lung infections which can be fatal. Smoking has been linked to dozens of side effects from heart attacks to poor wound healing in surgery patients, by as many as six times more.

A successful surgery is something all doctors wish for their patients. Doctors do not want their patient to have complications before, during or after surgery. This is why they ask for smokers to at least take a break before going under any anesthesia. Making smoking secession a top priority is something all patients should be doing, regardless if they are having surgery or not. The ultimate goal should be to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Quitting has become much easier over the years, mostly because of the availability of treatments. Some of the more common are over the counter, such as the nicotine patch and gum. Others choose to try homeopathic treatments such as herbal remedies, acupuncture and hypnosis. Prescription drugs such as Zyban and Wellbutrin have gained popularity as well. Often treatments are combined so the patient can be as successful as possible.

The most important thing to do is talk with your physician to discuss your options and find out which plan will suit you best. Since there are many choices and options available to help you quit, there can be no more excuses. Do not wait until you need major surgery before trying to quit, quit before you get there.

Not to bash smokers out there, but when faced with the facts, why would anyone want to start smoking? It’s not good for you, you get addicted to something only detrimental to your health, and no one thinks it looks cool. Despite ads, commercials, and papers that have announced that cigarettes have over 4,000 chemicals that are harmful to your body, a mass majority of people continue to smoke and there are new smokers every day. There are no benefits to smoking.

When adults smoke, they say they do it to relieve stress from their workday. But what they need to know is that everyone gets stressed and there are much better ways to relieve that stress instead of smoking. They can go exercise. It will keep their minds off the stress as well as build up your body whereas smoking only makes your body worse.

What a lot of people are starting to realize is that there are a lot of underage kids that are starting to smoke. Who knows where they get their hands on cigarettes from, but the fact is that they’re getting them. They must think that smoking makes them feel superior to others because they are doing something that ordinary kids don’t do, but they don’t look cool at all. The only thing that they will be known for is having a nasty odor coming from them.

The bottom line is, smoking isn’t immorally wrong, it’s just not the best choice you can make in life. People have the freedom to continue smoking if they would like to, but for me, it’s just a waste of money that could have been well spent on other things.

Whether you are an ex-smoker or just desperately wanting to help a loved one kick the habit of smoking, there are a few things you should keep in mind before setting out on your quest. You must remember that everyone’s body is different, so these tips may work to varying degrees. You must keep trying to persevere, and truly convince your friend or family member that the time has come for them to stop!

First, tell the person that they are going to succeed this time, regardless of how many times they’ve failed in the past. Let them know that your are there for them, one hundred percent, and will stop at nothing to help them quit. What you DON’T want to do is nag them, preach to them, or scold them about smoking cigarettes. It is important to keep all of these negative thoughts and attitudes away.

Create milestones. For each hour, day, or week offer praise and small rewards to your friend or family member. It can be something simple such as a healthy snack or a promise to help them do a chore that they loathe doing. This kind of action offers positive reinforcement and will ultimately help you both to succeed.

Participate in non-smoking activities with your friend of family member whenever you can. Go to a movie, eat at a restaurant that doesn’t allow smoking, or just take a walk. If they are tempted by a situation where smokers are around, such as a party or a bar, then calmly try to get them to leave and go do something else!

The one thing that all of the hundreds of people I’ve helped to quit smoking will all agree on is this, smoking purely and simply is a bad habit. Interestingly enough, so will almost everyone you meet who still smokes. Besides being an invitation to dire health problems down the road, it’s unattractive and expensive. Over the years, cigarette companies have done their best to encourage their product’s sales and keeping people in this nasty habit, despite being barred from advertising on television and in magazines.

The real issue here is that cigarette smoking is a generational problem. It wasn’t until the early 1970s that cigarette smoking was revealed to be a major contributor to lung cancer, emphysema and COPD. By then, there were hundreds of millions of cigarette addicts all over the world, many looking for a way out of this life-sapping addiction.

Children learn by example and many a cigarette smoker’s children have taken up the habit as a result. And the kids got hooked too. Even when their parents quit smoking their kids did not. They tell themselves, “Hey, my Mom smoked for thirty years and she’s doing just fine. It can’t be that bad!” Well I don’t care if your mom smoked for 30 years and now wrestles grizzly bears for a living, the odds are that if you’re still smoking, it will catch up to you and the result will be some very unpleasant health consequences.

If you want to quit smoking for good, and make an airtight case for your kids and grandkids to do the same, you need three things. You need to be motivated, educated and have a good support system to make it happen.

Motivation is perhaps the easiest step in your journey to quit smoking for good. Try a Google image search of ‘lung cancer effects’, ‘emphysema’ and ‘COPD breathing’. Read my article “9 Reasons why you should quit smoking” or any of the many articles I’ve written on putting this habit behind you. This five minute exercise ought to scare you straight. If you want to spread the news, print out a few of the choicest images and share them with family members you hope to inspire to also quit smoking. It’s a good idea to create a file folder, on your PC and in hard copy format. This will be good enough to turn your stomach. Share the results with your currently smoking loved ones. Hopefully it will turn their stomachs too!

If this is not sufficient motivation, use Google to collect information on the scientific facts and consequences of smoking. You can follow this link for some graphic reasons to quit.

Now that you’re motivated, check out some of the quit smoking forums and discussion groups. You’ll find thousands of people, who have been smoking for decades. You’ll hear horror stories based on fact that will surely motivate you to quit smoking for good. You’ll also discover success stories of people who managed to quit smoking before it was too late. You’ll learn tricks and tips from former smokers that can help you overcome the smoking habit. Smoking forums, message groups and other smoking information venues can provide plenty of support. You’ll find people just like you, still smoking, but desiring to quit smoking for good.

When you’ve found several forums, message boards and quit smoking informational articles, copy and paste the most relevant remarks in your PC folder. Print it all out. Tape your motivational quotes, scientific studies and pictures of smoking on the frig, or prominently displayed around your desk.

If you want to quit smoking for good, this can do it! And remember, there are many methods and resources available that can help you become smoke free for life! Quit smoking for good and take a few loved ones with you!

If you would like some more information on quitting I have a FREE Quit Smoking e-Course!

We all need air to breath. That is pretty much a given. However by smoking, we reduce and restrict the ability of the body to get air which ultimately makes the rest of the body, especially the heart, work so much harder. This article will outline 2 health reasons to quit smoking cigarettes and show how they impact the ability of the lungs and the heart to work effectively and efficiently.

The lungs are an intricate organ that deals with obtaining air for the individual and expelling carbon dioxides from the body. It is made up of two bronchi that subdivide into bronchioles that continue to subdivide until the alveoli is reached. The alveoli are the smallest element of the lung. Attached to each alveoli are?the pulmonary artery and vein. Air is passed down through the lung structure until it reaches the alveoli. Here the air is absorbed into the bloodstream and the carbon dioxide is drawn into the lungs. Thus on each respiration air and carbon dioxide pass in and out of the body.

Smoking cigarettes and inhaling the smoke causes it various chemicals and tar to travel down the lungs with the air. Over time. These chemicals coat the lungs, including the alveoli. As this coating gets thicker, it becomes harder for the air to be absorbed through the alveoli into the bloodstream or for the carbon dioxide to be expelled from the bloodstream. Effectively there is a barrier being placed between the air and the bloodstream that needs it.

This is why you will find that you are out of puff is you have a brisk walk or any form of exercise. Your lungs have to work harder to get enough air to the body. This also means that the heart has to work harder to pump more blood past the lungs. This can lead to heart disease or high blood pressure.

Smoking for any length of time affects how well the lungs can process air and makes the heart work harder to get that air. In both cases there are immediate and long term complications that can arise if you don’t give up smoking. These 2 health reasons to quit smoking cigarettes should make think twice before having another cigarette.

I hope I never hear anyone else say, “I can quit smoking anytime I want to.” It’s simply just not true. Smoking is the hardest habit to break known to mankind without some help. I know this to be true because I am an ex-smoker myself and no one has ever quit more times that I have.

Nobody ever tried to quit smoking more times than I did until I finally decided that I wanted to. I’d try to quit and nobody could get along with me. My wife would wind up going out and buying me cigarettes just to change my attitude or mood so I wasn’t biting her head off everytime she said something to me.

Nicotine patches and gum may work for some people but it’s not a must while most have reported to fail again and again. Using gum or patches is not only expensive but you still introduce nicotine.

If you happen to have any more cigarettes, lighters or matches in your house try and remove them right away. Every time you want to smoke a cigarette these will remind you of smoking, therefore removing them will reduce the urge to smoke.

I had several cartons of cigarettes in the cupboard when I finally quit smoking. I came home from work that day and threw them all out. Unbeknownst to me my wife saved them out of the trash and hid them thinking I would fail and need them again. Ha! Did I fool her!

Make sure you tell all your friends and family about your desire to quit smoking for good. It’s important while you need support from both friends/family or co-workers. When you finally decide to quit it’s always better that you find a friend that also wants to give up smoking so that you’re not all alone. This way your will power will considerably increase.

You should be aware that immediate results are pretty much impossible. A rather rapid and proven way to quit smoking is by using hypnotherapy and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). These methods are very effective and you’ll never crave for a cigarette again. Several online programs are available that are based on hypnotherapy. They are proven methods that thousands of people have used to finally quit smoking without having to spend thousands on other stop smoking aids that may not even work.

I hope some of this will be helpful in helping you to quit smoking. I could quote a lot of statistics on the health risks related to smoking and how it is such a nasty habit, but that wouldn’t make any difference to you until you decide you want to quit.

It is difficult to stop smoking there is no doubt. Many people try and fail many times and go through many methods before they are successful. Part of the reason for the lack of success is that stopping smoking can cause a number of consequences that the individual may not have been expecting. This can weaken their resolve and force them back to the old habit. One such consequence is that they can gain weight. So not only are they having physical withdrawal symptoms but now they have to contend with the psychological trauma of a perceived bad body image. So is there a way to stop smoking without gaining weight ? This article will shed some light on this issue.?

OK, so the reasons why people put on weight when they stop smoking are varied.

Some research suggests that having a cigarette will trigger the release of adrenaline in the body. This is a stress hormone or is released when the body perceives it is stressed. When the body is stressed, amongst many other things, it will divert blood away from the stomach and to the extremities of the body. This is thought to reduce the sensation of hunger so people may eat less if they smoke.

When people stop smoking there is a gap in their lives. They need to put something in their mouth to replace the cigarettes. And in most cases this is an article of food.?Consequently their calorific intake is higher than when they were smoking.

So what are the solutions.

Exercise can reduce stress and the stress hormone in the the body. Start getting some exercise regularly. This works on a few levels. Not only will your stress levels be reduced but you will use up any excess calories that you may be taking into the body. Plus, if you give up smoking your body will be more amenable to exercise.

If you do eat more food as a replacement for a cigarette, eat healthy food. Avoid the first thing you see and opt for things like fresh fruit. If you can’t do this or fruit is not your thing, then think about chewing gum. You can even get nicotine gum if the withdrawal symptoms are bad.

Above all, develop a new activities to replace cigarette smoking. Take on a new hobby that can engage all your faculties and help you forget about smoking. Something active like dancing or playing some sport will do. If you can get through the initial period of no smoking with some of these approaches you should find that you do not gain any extra weight.
